Learn to Dance and Experience Creativity

Creative Movement & Primary Dance
Ages 3-5
Creative Movement is a 60 minute introductory dance class containing ballet and creative movement. Young dancers will learn the basic steps of classical ballet while learning how to follow direction and imitate movement in a positive environment. Engaging music is used to get these little dancers inspired to move. Young dancers will have the opportunity to use their imagination and creativity in an active atmosphere. The class is structured to use creative imagery to teach the young dancers basic ballet technique and imagination to inspire fun movement. As with all of the classes, Creative Movement provides an introduction to the Elements of Dance through the study of rhythm, space control, and kinesthetic awareness, all while moving in fun and creative ways. Continuation of the course will build spatial development, listening skills, group structure, and strengthen bodies and learn coordination.
Primary Dance is a 60-minute class that is an excellent introduction to the basics of ballet and jazz steps with lessons designed to keep their attention in a fun and friendly atmosphere. This class focuses on creative movement which builds on the necessary gross motor skills needed for primary dance instruction while further developing their coordination in an interactive and creative environment.. Fun, upbeat music is used to learn basic skills like hopping, skipping, jumping, galloping, and balance coordination. While learning beginning terms and the foundations of ballet and jazz, students will discover how connect steps with the music to create combinations of movement. Fostering creativity and expression in movement, students will begin to master the foundations, concepts, and vocabulary of ballet and jazz technique all while nurturing their love of dance. Proper technique is taught through creative dances and imagination. We focus on the basics: strength, muscle control, coordination, and classroom socialization.

Leveled Classes
Ages 5 and Up
Beginning Ballet is a 60 minute class, which is recommended for new ballet dancers, or young ballet dancers who require additional emphasis on technique. Known to be the most recognizable form of dance, ballet is a highly technical art form steeped in rich history and tradition, requiring years of dedicated study and practice to master. With its focus on proper posture and form, ballet is an excellent foundation to build your dancer’s education upon, no matter which style of dance they pursue. This class will enhance your child's coordination, balance and flexibility with the teaching of basic ballet positions, steps, and terminology through standing barre work and simple center floor exercises. Beginning Ballet introduces children to music and movement through a structured progression that emphasizes creativity and group interaction. Students are introduced to the basic shapes, positions, postures and traditions of classical ballet at a time when their fine and gross motor skills are becoming more refined. Your child will also enjoy simple and fun exercises in creative movement and music exploration. Beginning Ballet provides the perfect introduction to the fundamentals of ballet technique including barre work, combinations, and choreography.
Hip Hop & Teen Hip Hop is a 60 minute class. This dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip hop music which has evolved as part of hip hop culture. This dance style follows the current music trends and is seen in music videos, etc. It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States. Students will begin learning hip hop fundamentals. Hip hop moves are broken down for dancers. Progression in class sees an increased focus on weight shifting movements, tempo, intricacy, formations, footwork, and agility levels. Original choreography will be taught, allowing students to discover their own hip hop style in a stress-free and fun environment, encouraging confidence building, independent creativity, and teamwork. Students are challenged to think on their feet while enjoying an energetic and fast-paced dance class. Our Hip Hop dancers develop focus, strength, and agility while having fun. This is an excellent class for high-energy kids who want to take a fast and fun dance class. No experience necessary.
Jazz is a 60 minute class that focuses on finding one’s sense of rhythm and style of dance through improvement of flexibility and technique. Jazz dance has an increased focus on isolations, a lower center of gravity, high energy, and stylization.
COMING SOON...
Lyrical is a 60 minute class that is a combination of jazz and ballet that challenges dancers to use motion to interpret music and express emotion. Students will also explore how lyrical dance emphasizes interpretation of music lyrics to tell a story with movement that can be fluid or abstract. Students will explore partnering and weight sharing exercises combined with basic techniques and skills from ballet, jazz and modern. As students’ progress through each level curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.
Core & Technique is a 60 minute class focuses on the development and progression of technique for turns and leaps, including intricate turn series and advanced leaps. This class provides an emphasis on flexibility, and balance, while building a strong core and functional strength.

COMING SOON - Teen/Adult
Ages 13 and Up
Hip Hop is a 60 minute class and specifically for ages 13 and up. This dance style follows the current music trends and is seen in music videos, etc. Dancers are introduced to a variety of hip hop styles including, popping, locking, tutting, breakdance, and more. Progression in class sees an increased focus on weight shifting movements, tempo, intricacy, formations, footwork, and agility levels.
Swing Dance is specifically for dancers 13 and up and is a 60 minute class. We will start with the basics including body position, connection and basic footwork. We learn steps in the West Coast Swing style which is characterized by a distinctive elastic look that results from its basic extension-compression technique of partner connection. We will also learn steps in the East Coast Swing style, the original swing dance, which has been around since the 1920's, and has evolved with each decade's popular music. This style offers both “single” time and “triple” time styles. Bring your own partner or come ready to make a new friend!
